A social enterprise is a business created to further a social purpose in a financially sustainable way.
Green Active Social Enterprise was established in 2013 for social purposes. Our region (South-Hungary, Baranya county) is a depressive area where the rate of unemployment is relatively high. The main goal is to find jobs, work for the members of the co-operative and organize programs for them and their families to get a good community and to raise their standard of living.
There is a big emphasis on education, new approaches in the way of living toward sustainable development. Both the social and the ecological aspects are important for us. Since the organization was granted by an inland application, a professional management has been set to involve members of the target group into the project, so the employment and education get to start.
Our enterprise is structured as a for-profit organization but we prefer to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being, rather than maximizing profits for external shareholders.
